Biography
… instructs Earth Expeditions education abroad courses each year, advises graduate students, and partners with multiple global conservation organizations worldwide. Jill has a Ph.D. in ecology, evolution, and environmental biology, a master’s in environmental science, and a B.A. in biology. Jill also won NAAEE’s 2019 award for outstanding service to environmental education at the global level. Jill’s research centers on place, specifically focusing on how the values we hold for important natural areas can contribute positively to conservation. Her work takes a collaborative approach, partnering with expert local community members in a variety of global communities. She’s also a board member of Imago, a Cincinnati-based non-profit focused on connecting more of us to nature and sustainable living. Jill lives in Cincinnati, is often found on a forest hike with family and friends, and credits her own love of nature to getting the chance to climb trees as a child.
