Biography
Shelly F. Petersen is an experienced educator passionate about environmental science, biology, and special education. With more than 17 years of teaching experience, she has developed innovative curricula, expanded digital learning, and fostered inclusive classrooms. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture-Animal Science from the University of Arizona, a Master of Education in Special Education from Grand Canyon University, and a Master of Arts in Biology from Miami University. She has taught at Arizona State University and in the Peoria Unified School District, developing AP Environmental Science programs and managing special education services. Beyond teaching, Shelly leads student environmental initiatives, has traveled internationally for conservation efforts, and has received multiple awards, including Educator of the Year from the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
