Teaching specialties include leadership, nursing foundations, pediatrics, simulation based learning and community clinical experiences. 

Professional Experience

Prior to joining MIami University, Rhonda served over 30 years in clinical and leadership positions at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.  Rhonda has a strong background in clinical and education leadership, pediatric palliative & hospice care and interprofessional education.  She has provided education to learners at all levels.


Rhonda is an active board member (2020-2023) for Sarah House, a non-profit organization to create a pediatric respite and end of life facility in the region. She is also an active board member for the Ohio Society of Pediatric Nursing (2020-2022) and participates as a member of the national Society of Pediatric Nursing task force in researching and developing a model for pediatric nursing excellence.   In 2020, she was appointed to the Ohio Department of Education Ohio Physician and Allied Health Care Workforce Preparation Task Force, representing Miami University, in the development of a report on the status of healthcare workforce preparation.
