Why did you choose to complete your degree at Miami University Regionals?

The program at Miami University Regionals was ideal for me because, as a working professional with years of college credits but no degree, I needed a way to complete my education without taking on more debt. The flexible schedule that combined in-person and online classes allowed me to balance work commitments while pursuing my academic goals.

Did any faculty, staff, or mentors at the University play a significant role in your journey?

Dr. Leland Spencer was an invaluable advisor and professor who significantly influenced my academic path at Miami University Regionals. His expertise helped shape my Liberal Studies curriculum, guiding me in selecting courses that aligned with both my personal and professional goals. By integrating my prior college credits seamlessly into this program, he made my educational journey more efficient and fulfilling. His support and mentorship were instrumental in helping me focus on classes that would have the most impact on my career. While I know he's no longer at Miami University, his positive influence remains a lasting part of my academic and professional growth.

Dr. Helane Adams Androne was an exceptional faculty member whose instruction not only enriched my academic experience but also challenged me to excel as a writer and critical thinker. Her classes fostered an environment where I could grow both intellectually and personally, pushing me beyond my comfort zones and encouraging intellectual curiosity. Beyond academics, her mentorship was particularly supportive of non-traditional students like myself, offering understanding and encouragement during challenging times. Her candor and guidance helped us navigate the complexities of balancing personal circumstances with academic responsibilities.
