Why Miami University?

My time at Miami University as a student-athlete has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I chose Miami because it offered the perfect balance of strong academics and the opportunity to continue competing in the sport I love. From the moment I stepped on campus, I knew it was a place where I could grow both personally and professionally. I truly love Miami because of the supportive community, the friendships I've built, and the opportunities I've been given. Competing as a collegiate volleyball player taught me how to balance a demanding schedule while staying committed to both academics and athletics. Between practices, workouts, travel, and classes, I developed discipline, time management, and resilience. Being part of a team strengthened my communication, leadership, and teamwork skills while teaching me how to perform under pressure. Overall, my experience at Miami has helped prepare me for success both in the classroom and in my future career.

How did you choose your major?

I chose to major in Commerce because I've always enjoyed working with people, solving problems, and building relationships. I like that a business degree offers a wide range of career opportunities while allowing me to develop skills that are valuable in almost any industry. As I've continued through college, I've realized that business aligns well with my strengths, especially communication, leadership, and teamwork. I'm excited to continue growing my knowledge and pursue a career in sales where I can build meaningful connections and continue learning.

Tell us about any special experiential learning opportunities -- research, study abroad/away, student organizations, internships, athletics, or other things -- that have influenced you in a positive way.

Two of the most meaningful experiences during my time at Miami have been being a collegiate volleyball player and becoming a member of Kappa Delta. Volleyball has taught me discipline, resilience, and how to manage my time while balancing a busy schedule. Being part of Kappa Delta has allowed me to build lifelong friendships, get involved on campus, and grow as a leader through service and collaboration. Both experiences have helped me step outside my comfort zone, strengthen my communication skills, and become a more confident, well-rounded person.

What are your plans for after you graduate from Miami? What sort of career are you aiming for? What is your dream job?

After I graduate from Miami, I plan to pursue a career in sales, with the goal of working in pharmaceutical sales. I enjoy building relationships and working with people, which is why I feel this career is a great fit for me.

If you had an opportunity to talk to a student considering coming to Miami, what would you tell them?

I would tell them that choosing Miami was one of the best decisions I've made. There are so many opportunities to get involved, meet new people, and grow both personally and professionally. Whether it's through academics, athletics, Greek life, or other organizations, there's a place for everyone. The community is welcoming, and the experiences you'll have here make it feel like home.
