Why Miami University?

When representatives came from Miami to Ross high school and talked about the opportunities and how welcoming the campus was, I wanted to look more into it and honestly I saw how affordable and close distance it was. So I signed up for a tour and that sold it for me. I knew I wanted to go to college at Miami University!

How did you choose your major?

So when I first came to Miami I decided to major in Robotics, then I realized that was never my complete passion. So I switched into an Associate in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor's in Mechatronics. This will be my first semester with this major, but I am feeling much more confident.

Tell us about any special experiential learning opportunities -- research, study abroad/away, student organizations, internships, athletics, or other things -- that have influenced you in a positive way.

I work on campus in the weight room which also consists of working at basketball and volleyball games. I am now working for the Regional Office of Student Activities (ROSA) and am an orientation leader for Student Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR).

What are your plans for after you graduate from Miami? What sort of career are you aiming for? What is your dream job?

I want to graduate with a job or at least on the right path of getting there. I really want to just be able to create robots, I want to make a difference in some sort of way.

If you had an opportunity to talk to a student considering coming to Miami, what would you tell them?

I would tell them that there are so many opportunities for them to fit in, they can even make their own club if they just can’t seem to find one that is already made. The teachers and classmates around are so welcoming and understanding that it is all our first time in college and just help you feel so included. There are so many different places to go and explore and relax. There are resources on campus if you need help in anyway. I truly believe that Miami is a chance to find yourself in ways you never knew were possible.

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your Miami experience that we didn't cover?

I love the events that welcome everyone into campus, I enjoyed making butter during last year, and the fashion show! I truly enjoyed my Interpersonal Communication class more than anything! I also really enjoy the little gardens we have displayed around campus.
