Karla C. Boldery (Cárdenas-Álvarez)
Karla C. Boldery (Cárdenas-Álvarez) is a highly accomplished business professional, entrepreneur, and the 2023 Ohio SBDC State Star, recognized for her outstanding contributions to small business development. Currently serving as the Business Development Director for the Ohio Small Business Development Centers at Miami University Regionals.
In addition to her role at the SBDC, Karla holds the position of General Market Manager for La Mega Media, Inc., the largest Hispanic media platform in Ohio. Leveraging her extensive experience in small business, media and marketing, she brings valuable insights to her work in supporting businesses, specifically those within the Hispanic community.
Karla's exceptional leadership garnered her recognition as the 2017 SBA Partner of the Year for advancing the Hispanic business community. Further accolades include being named a 2018 Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan by the Ohio Commission of Hispanic and Latino Affairs (OCHLA) and inclusion in the Cincinnati Business Courier Forty under 40 in 2015.
As the 2023 Ohio SBDC State Star, Karla's dedication and exemplary performance underscore her significant impact in delivering top-notch services to small businesses. Beyond her professional roles, she founded and leads the transformative Latina Entrepreneur Academy in Cincinnati. This entrepreneurial bootcamp has empowered over 180 Latina and Latino individuals, providing vital education and fostering a supportive network for business success.
Furthermore, Karla is actively involved in various advisory boards, including the MBAC Advisory Board for the Greater Cincinnati African American Chamber of Commerce since January 2019, OKI's Environmental Justice Advisory Committee since September 2019, Corporation of Findlay Market Board, and the Inclusive Excellence Advisory Board at the University of Cincinnati Carl H.
