Teaching and Interests
Marianne is a Professor and Chair of the Computer and Information Technology Department at Miami University. She has served on a number of high-profile committees including the College of Professional Studies and Applied Science (CPSAS) Dean review committee, CPSAS curriculum and academic council committees (CPSAS became the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science in July 2016).
In her previous roles she chaired the Undergraduate Programs and Strategic Planning Committees and has extensive experience developing curriculum and course redesign. She brings two decades of teaching experience that includes Information Security, Computer Programming, Database Management, Decision Sciences, Business Analytics, Statistics and Systems Design.
In addition to her teaching experience, her industry experience includes audit, accounting, bank mergers/acquisitions and consulting. She is passionate about working with students and preparing them for meaningful lives and careers.
Marianne holds a PhD in Decision and Information Systems from Arizona State University and an MBA from Kent State University. Her primary research interests include teaching methodologies, information security and data integration. She has published on the role of pedagogy, curriculum development and assessment.
She has taught and developed numerous courses both online and face to face.
