In this poster, we review the integer quantum Hall effect for standard electronic systems. We find that the Hall resistance in 2D materials is quantized into fixed values dependent on the strength of an externally applied magnetic field, leading to plateaus in the relationship between the strength of the magnetic field and the resistance of the sample. Moving forward, we are working to simulate this effect in the optical domain involving 2D architectures of rotating ring resonators.
