Gay community stress among sexual minority men has been linked to increased mental health concerns, including social anxiety and depression.5,6
Gay community spaces centered around nightlife or social media may amplify risk of mental health concerns, whereas other forms of involvement (e.g., political activism) may buffer against mental health concerns.
