A20 - Heroic Iconography and Vessel Morphology in Classical Greece
My research consisted of me looking through the Beazley Database, which holds records of thousands of Greek vessels. Using this as my primary source of data, I narrowed down my research to analyzing iconography on Athenian red-figure pots.
A20 - Heroic Iconography and Vessel Morphology in Classical Greece
Mentor: Jeb Card, Ph.D.
My research consisted of me looking through the Beazley Database, which holds records of thousands of Greek vessels. Using this as my primary source of data, I narrowed down my research to analyzing iconography on Athenian red-figure pots. Along with the guidance of Dr. Card from the Anthropology Department here, I analyzed four different shapes of vessels- oinochoai, amphorae, lekythoi, and cups- and identified any iconographic patterns that occurred.
