Open Faculty Positions

Department of Psychology is hiring faculty in social psychology 

Assistant and/or Associate Professor (two positions available) in Social Psychology to begin Fall 2019 to teach social psychology courses at the graduate and undergraduate level, maintain an active research agenda, advise students, and provide service to the institution.

Require: Ph.D. in Social Psychology or closely related field by date of appointment.

Require for appointment as associate professor: Strong research and publication record, evidence of successful graduate and undergraduate training, and the ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in social psychology and topics related to candidates’ research specialties.    

Consideration may be given to applicants with research interests in one or more of the following areas (broadly defined): health and well-being, social development, diversity science, or social neuroscience.

Our Social Psychology Area prides itself on placing its graduates directly into attractive tenure-track and industry positions and on its ability to build bridges to the other cognate areas in the department (Brain, Cognitive, & Developmental; Clinical). Applicants should submit the following: cover letter, curriculum vitae, 2-6 representative publications/pre-prints (“writing sample”), teaching philosophy, research statement, and a diversity contribution plan (as “other” document) to Hire Touch. Cover letter should articulate capacity to connect with researchers throughout the department.  Diversity plan should explain how they can enhance the diversity and inclusivity of our academic community through research, teaching, and service (maximum 2 single-spaced pages). Research statement should highlight engagement with contemporary best practices in psychological science. Department will solicit letters of recommendation from references listed in application.
