Redhawk Talks

The Graduate School is excited to host the first ever Redhawk Talks to celebrate our talented graduate students and the art of sharing ideas. Twenty students will give a 3-5 minute talk that they have been coached to create and present. The students will present on a variety of topics ranging from their research interests to their passions. This will be an exciting and thought provoking event you won’t want to miss! The event will be held on Friday, March 15th 2019 in Shideler Hall, room 152. Check back for more information in Spring semester.

Participant Information

Twenty graduate students will be selected from the applicant pool to partake in the RedHawk Talks coaching sessions. A professional from Articulation, Inc. will coach you in 5 sessions, starting in December and going up until the Redhawk Talks event on March, 15th. In these sessions you will join a cohort of graduate students to reflect and practice with, as well as individual and group coaching sessions with the professional mentor. You will craft a TED-like talk by learning about content framing methodology, how to utilize powerful visuals and stories, and the best ways to organize your message. At the end of the sessions, you will have the opportunity to present your talk at the Redhawk Talks event on March, 15th to an audience filled with Miami University and Oxford Community members. You will also have a professional video of your talk that you are free to share in your professional development.
