International students will also be required to attend the International Student Orientation.
All Oxford campus students who are enrolling for the first time or re-enrolling after an absence of two years must complete an immunization form. Learn more about required immunizations and how to submit documentation by visiting the Immunization website.
All full-time students completing face-to-face courses at the Oxford campus are billed for student health insurance. Students who are currently covered by another health insurance should complete an insurance waiver request to remove the charge.

You could have an Immunization Hold or Medical Hold.
If this is the case, you need to check with the Student Health Service to see if you need to provide information to them. Either way, they will have to remove the hold.
You could have a Final Transcript Hold.
Students must provide a final official transcript by the 5th week of their first term. Students will be unable to register for any further classes until it has been received.
The final official transcript can be mailed to Miami University Graduate Admission, 301 S. Campus Avenue, Oxford, OH, 45056, or sent via Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse to Grad_Transcripts@MiamiOH.edu. International applicants can plan to bring their official transcripts to campus in their original sealed envelope. Email graduate admission at Grad_Transcripts@Miamioh.edu to schedule a drop-off time.
Unless it has been more than 5 years since you have registered for a class, you do not have to reapply. However, you do have to re-enroll. To re-enroll, submit the Re-Enrollment form. You will be notified by email once you have been reactivated by the Registrar's Office.
If it has been more than 5 years since you were enrolled, you will need to submit a new and complete application.
If it has been 2 years since you last registered for a class, you will have to re-apply to the program and submit a complete application. You should also contact the department to see if they require additional information from you.

Students who have accepted Miami’s offer of admission may request to defer their enrollment for up to one full academic year. This defer is for admission only, it does not guarantee any financial awards, although applicants may again be considered for awards.
Students who wish to defer should take the following steps:
Students will receive notification from Miami within 10 business days if their deferral has been approved or denied. If approved, students receive additional instructions via email prior to the start date of their deferred-to semester, including a reactivation form. Approved defer students must adhere to the following:
After their deferred semester or year has passed, students who are unable to enroll at Miami at that time must reapply for admission if they wish to attend in the future.
You must submit final documents to the Graduate School before the 5th week of your first academic term. This includes:
Failure to submit these final documents will result in a hold placed on your account, which will prevent you from registering for your second-semester courses.
We understand that it is often difficult to receive these documents before you arrive, therefore we recommend that you submit any additional items that have been requested of you to us as soon as they are available. It is also acceptable for you to bring these documents with you and submit them to Graduate Admission after your arrival. Details explaining how to do this is included on the Applicant Status page. Please note that failure to submit original or official documents will result in a hold being placed on your account, and you will be unable to register for your second-semester courses until we receive them. If you are truly unable to secure an original or official copy of your documents, please contact Graduate Admission at applygrad@miamioh.edu.
New international students who have not earned a Bachelor's or graduate degree from an institution in the U.S. or an institution in a country where English is the official language are required to take a written English Placement Test (EPT) and the Speaking Proficiency English Assessment Kit (SPEAK) test.
The EPT test results will determine whether you will be required to take the 3-credit hour English 119 course or a 4-credit hour ENG 107 course during your first semester at Miami. You will receive an email from the Graduate School shortly before your arrival telling you whether or not you will be required to take the EPT.
The results of the SPEAK test will determine whether or not you will be required to take the ACE 619 course in your first semester of study. Students who hold a graduate assistantship are required by state law to have your spoken English abilities assessed before you can be assigned instructional duties. You must obtain a grade of pass or conditional pass (the latter requires ACE 619 enrollment) before you can begin any teaching duties at Miami.
The times to take the EPT and SPEAK tests are scheduled for you. You will be informed via email regarding the dates and times to take the tests.
International students in certain non-immigrant visa categories are eligible for Ohio residency for tuition purposes. More information about Ohio residency and the residency application can be found on the OneStop website. If you would like to contact a residency officer directly, please send an email to residency@miamioh.edu.
