Visiting the Museum

The Hefner Museum eagerly anticipates your next visit!  Tours -private, community, and school groups- are being planned now.  

Holiday Schedule:

The Hefner Museum will be closed the following dates: Wednesday, November 22 - Friday, November 24, 2017, and December 25, 2017 - January 1, 2018.

Good news! You asked and we are doing it...Open Saturdays! We are open on the following Saturdays for your next visit: November 18, December 2, December 9, 2017. Bring your family and friends, or just yourself, and reconnect with the nature around you, even in your own backyards.

Hours of Operation

  • Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm
  • Closed weekends and all University holidays


Visitors may park in the university parking garage for 50¢ an hour (no permit required). Parking elsewhere on campus requires a visitor parking permit. Permits are available at the Parking Services Office, located in the Campus Avenue Building on the corner of Spring Street and Campus Avenue. Visitor permits require a valid driver’s license and the vehicle license plate number. For more information, visit contact Miami University Parking Services.

Directions for Parking

The North Campus Parking Garage is located behind Benton (Engineering) Hall. Head east on Patterson Ave. Go straight at the intersection of High and Patterson and turn left at the next intersection. This street leads to North Campus Parking Garage which will be on your left. Take a ticket and park your vehicle.

From North Campus Parking Garage, take the elevators or stairs to ground level and cross High Street directly in front of Benton (Engineering) Hall. Walk straight ahead to Upham Hall. You will pass Laws Hall on your right and Hughes Hall on your left.

Group Visits

Groups are welcome! School teachers can schedule a field trip for their students.
