Anthony Thompson serves on the TV Development team at Kevin Hart’s HartBeat production company in Los Angeles, working alongside HartBeat’s line of producers to develop, pitch, and produce diverse scripted series, limited series, and specials across all genres. His team’s slate consists of over 60 TV shows including FX’s “DAVE,” the network’s highest-rated comedy series of all time. Prior to HartBeat, Anthony held positions at Atlantic Records and Elektra Music Group in urban film and TV sync, focusing efforts on aligning Black music and artists with on-screen storytelling. In the summer of 2020, he co-founded Warner Music Group’s first racial justice / educational resource group for employees, launching a global speaker series that featured Angela Davis, Ibram X. Kendi, and Yusef Salaam of the Exonerated 5. Anthony previously interned with A24, Paramount Pictures, MTV, and VH1, and following his time at Miami, he continued arranging songs for Miami’s a cappella group, Open Fifth.
Based on the popular “30 under 30” model and inspired by Miami University’s charter year of 1809, the program is designed to honor alumni who are living out the values inherent in a Miami education. In the program’s tenth year, nearly 70 alumni were nominated for this award. To learn more about Anthony, view his profile online.
