Art, Exploration, and Open Doors: Don’t miss your last chance to visit the Art Museum before June 7!

Oxford, OH – The Richard and Carole Cocks Art Museum at Miami University is open through Saturday, June 7, 2025, and we're inviting everyone to experience visual arts and culture from around the world for free. Whether you're an art enthusiast, a curious visitor, or looking for a fun and free family outing, now is the time to visit!

What’s on view now?

Step inside and be inspired by our current exhibitions, featuring a dynamic blend of contemporary perspectives and timeless stories:

  • From the Collection (Douglass Gallery): This semi-permanent exhibition showcases key works from the museum’s diverse collection, including pieces by acclaimed artists such as Louise Nevelson, Ferdinand Bol, Francesco Solimena, Alfred Eisenstaedt, Robert Indiana, and Margaret Bourke-White. Visitors can also explore selections of Native American, African, and Eurasian art and material culture.
  • Tooling Around with Jim Dine (McKie Gallery): Explore the works of Jim Dine, an artist associated with the Pop Art movement of the 1960s. This exhibition features ten of Dine’s tool prints from the museum’s permanent collection, reflecting on tools connected with his childhood and a family-owned hardware store. Dine’s monochromatic prints create striking contrasts, emphasizing the aesthetic appreciation of everyday objects.
  • Art & Exchange: African Textiles in a Global Marketplace (Farmer Gallery): Developed in collaboration with Miami University's Art & Architecture History Capstone class, this exhibition explores the rich history and aesthetics of African textile creation. Students curated the exhibition by selecting objects from the museum’s collection, researching, and contextualizing textiles to provide insights into their cultural significance and global impact.

With free admission, free on-site parking, and exhibitions designed to engage visitors of all ages, the museum is the perfect destination for a weekday adventure or weekend exploration.
