Miami University Performing Arts Series awarded Ohio Arts Council FY26 Sustainability Grant
At the start of its 90th season, Miami University’s Performing Arts Series has been awarded a prestigious Sustainability Grant from the Ohio Arts Council (OAC). Over the next four years, the Series will receive $100,000, joining an elite group of Ohio arts organizations supported for ongoing operations and artistic vitality.
“We are honored to receive this grant and grateful for the ongoing support that a four-year commitment from the Ohio Arts Council provides,” said Patti Hannan Liberatore, Series director and assistant dean for external relations. “The Series is committed to bringing unique and transformative experiences to the region. This grant helps ensure our programming remains affordable, engaging, and transformative for all.”
About the Performing Arts Series
Founded in 1935, the Performing Arts Series offers a dynamic program of music, theatre, family programs, festivals, and outreach events each year. Inspired by the concept of radical hospitality, we are driven by a mission to break down barriers and cultivate inclusivity. Our programs span both traditional performing arts and contemporary programming, all selected with an eye to serve the Oxford-Miami community, Butler County, and the broader region.
Key planned uses of the award include:
- Raising the bar on high-caliber artists, the Series brings to Oxford to entertain and educate.
- Deepening collaborations, thus expanding the reach of Series performances further across Butler County.
- Solidifying the year-round work with partners and artistic collaborators on the annual Electric Root Festival, a free arts and culture festival for all that the Performing Arts Series produces each spring.
“The Performing Arts Series is an essential part of the cultural fabric at Miami University and throughout Butler County,” said Ryan Fisher, dean of the Miami University College of Creative Arts. “This generous grant from the Ohio Arts Council affirms the value of the high-quality performances and events the Series brings to our campus and community. We are proud to support a program that not only enriches the lives of our students, faculty, and staff, but also serves as a vital cultural resource for the region.”
