Miami University dance program selected for DanceCincinnati26 festival
Ashley Goos, director of Miami University’s Dance program, has been selected to perform in DanceCincinnati26, an adjudicated festival highlighting professional and emerging choreography from across the Cincinnati region. The festival will take place Feb. 6–8 at the Anderson Center Theater in Cincinnati.
The Miami University performance features three seniors in the dance program and includes a restaging of “Ascension,” a work choreographed by Ashley Goos that originally premiered at Miami Moves in 2023. The invitation places Miami University among a group of regional companies chosen through a competitive application process.
DanceCincinnati26, produced by DE LA Dance Company, is a mixed-repertoire concert celebrating a wide range of dance styles and artistic voices. Participating artists and organizations include DE LA Dance Company, Lily Seitter and Artists, Zahara’s Dark Fusion Dames, Northern Kentucky University Theater and Dance, and Miami University Dance.
“This opportunity allows our dancers to share the stage with professional companies and perform in a context outside the ‘Miami Bubble,’” said Goos. “It reflects the strength of Miami’s dance training and the growth of the program.”
The festival will feature both world premieres and returning works, highlighting the technical range and diversity of Cincinnati-area dance artists. Tickets for DanceCincinnati26 are currently on sale through DE LA Dance Company.
