Sing with the Spring 2026 Miami Choral Collective

Members of the greater Oxford community are warmly invited to join the Miami Choral Collective, a vibrant, intergenerational community choir dedicated to musical artistry, connection, and joy. Rehearsals meet weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6–8 p.m., beginning Feb. 18, on Miami University’s campus, culminating in a collaborative concert with chamber orchestra on Wednesday, April 22.

This spring’s concert is presented in two parts. The first celebrates Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, honoring the 270th anniversary of his birth (1756–1791). Singers will explore several of Mozart’s most beloved choral works—including Ave verum corpus, Laudate Dominum, Regina Coeli, and Veni Sancte Spiritus—all performed with chamber orchestra.

The second half turns toward the American experience in honor of America’s 250th anniversary, offering a vibrant musical portrait of the nation’s many voices. From the timeless folk spirit of Simple Gifts and the expansive beauty of America the Beautiful, to Copland’s hopeful Promise of Living and Whitman-inspired I Hear America Singing, this set celebrates the ideals, stories, and sounds that shape our shared identity. The program also features Bob Chilcott’s A Little Jazz Mass with jazz combo and concludes with Rollo Dilworth’s powerful setting of Lift Every Voice and Sing.

Whether you are a lifelong singer or returning to choral music after time away, this is a fabulous opportunity to build community, make music at a high level, and sing alongside musicians of all generations. You won’t want to miss it. MCC is open to high school-aged students and above.
