To ensure continuity in the department's leadership, Associate Professor Marly Wooster has agreed to serve as Interim Chair of the Department of Theatre for the 2026–27 academic year.
“I am so thankful to be stepping into this leadership role in this department that I love,” said Wooster. “There’s a lot of change, that’s both exciting and challenging, but I know we’ll work together to keep the learning, performing, and creating happening for this year and beyond. I’m excited to get started.”

Known for her student-centered approach and commitment to collaboration, Wooster has played a key role in advancing the department's educational and artistic goals. Her extensive experience and deep knowledge of the department position her well to guide the program during this transitional year.
Dean of the College of Creative Arts Ryan Fisher expressed enthusiasm for Wooster's appointment.
The College of Creative Arts thanks Omasta for his leadership and many contributions to the Department of Theatre and wishes him continued success in his new role. CCA also looks forward to Wooster's leadership as the department continues to build on its strong tradition of creativity, collaboration, and student success.
