Alumna Faith Walker ‘21 joins Art Museum Team
Miami University alum Faith Walker ‘21 recently joined the Richard and Carole Cocks Museum (RCCAM) team as the museum’s Collections Manager/Registrar.
As a student, Walker double majored in Anthropology and Art History with minors in Museums and Society and Archaeology. In addition, she interned at the Art Museum, helping current Interim Director Jason Shaiman curate exhibitions such as “Life Cycles: Death” in 2018.
After graduating in 2021, Walker joined AmeriCorps, where she revitalized a local history museum in Ravenswood, West Virginia, as the Museum’s Director.
“I could get my hands dirty with a number of different museum projects and really figure out where I wanted to focus in museums,” Walker notes from her time at the Great Bend Museum. “My interest from the start was always the collection: its organization, records, and preservation”.
Walker recently left the Great Bend Museum in 2025 and has since worked in the private sector as a curator and arts specialist, cataloging private collections.
Returning to Miami University in this new role gives Walker a fresh perspective on the campus: “It’s really good to be back. Miami has always meant so much to me.” As RCCAM prepares for its year-long renovation, she is excited to continue her passion for collection cataloging and preservation: “it’s the same skillset I’m used to, just on a much larger scale”.
