Out of all the universities you looked at, what made you ultimately choose Miami?
I was really not set on any college in particular. When it came down to it, Miami's campus was just so much more appealing with how it felt to walk around, how beautiful it was, and overall the vibe just felt right.
How did you choose your major(s)?
Coming from more of an arts background, but thinking I would leave my interests to more of hobbies. I came into Miami thinking I wanted to be a Marketing major, but because I didn't get into the FSB program immediately, I was undecided my first semester. During that first semester, I took CCA 201, Introduction to Arts Management, and it absolutely changed my entire college experience. I had no idea that we had an Arts Management program, but I realized that it was exactly the career path and experiences I wanted to have, so I ended up switching majors that semester.
Tell us about any special experiential learning opportunities that have influenced you in a positive way.
I have had the opportunity to interact with lots of great people through my degree and connections that I've made. On campus, I work as co-chair of Sparkfest, a student-run and led festival, as well as for the Miami University Performing Arts Series.
As a Miami student, what are some of your awards and accomplishments? Are you a student leader? Tell us about that and what roles you have played in the Miami community.
On campus, I am heavily involved in the College of Creative Arts. For three years, I've served as a member of the College of Creative Arts Dean's Student Advisory Board, advising the Dean of the CCA and advocating for ways to improve the student experience within our college. I am also the head co-chair of Miami University's Sparkfest, an annual student-run and led festival that celebrates artists and artisans of Miami University.
What are your plans after you graduate from Miami? What is your dream job?
I really want to move to either Chicago or New York, depending on job prospects. I would love to work in the creative industry in some sort of agency or media company. A dream job would be some sort of Creative Director role at a larger media or entertainment company.
Is there anything else you'd like to share about your Miami experience that we didn't cover?
All of the professors within the Arts Management department have been absolutely so impactful and wonderful to work with. I would not be the same student I am without their guidance.
