Caroline Miller, Advice to Prospective Students

Out of all the universities you looked at, what made you ultimately choose Miami?

I knew the second I stepped on campus that this was where I was supposed to be.

How did you choose your major(s)? Were you decided from the beginning, or did you discover your interests here along the way?

I was always going to major in theatre, but entrepreneurship snuck up on me, and I ended up loving it. I switched from a certificate to a minor to a major because I was so engaged in the classes and I loved what I was learning.

Tell us about any special experiential learning opportunities that have influenced you in a positive way.

I spent all of my free time doing shows with the department and with Stage Left. I recently wrote a research paper for an independent study about AI and standardized patients; I did over 50 hours of medical acting simulations for the nursing school; I went to the London Theatre Program in Jan 2025, and I managed the theatre department social media my junior and senior year

As a Miami student, what are some of your awards and accomplishments? Are you a student leader? Tell us about that and what roles you have played in the Miami community.

I got the Gates-Abbeglan Scholarship from the theatre department. I was president of Alpha Psi Omega Theatre Honors Fraternity. I was also a TA for ESP 103, ESP 401, and THE 107.

What are your plans after you graduate from Miami? What is your dream job?

Moving to NYC to be an actor and a standardized patient.

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your Miami experience that we didn't cover?

Working with Jeni Al Bahrani and David Eyman has been so wonderful!
