Direction is important. Knowing why you are here and keeping tunnel vision on your goals is ideal. Miami has a ton of resources and people that can change your life—take advantage of that.

Drea Bryant, Advice to Prospective Students

Out of all the universities you looked at, what made you ultimately choose Miami?

The location and the Fashion/Art entrepreneurship co-majors.

How did you choose your major(s)? Were you decided from the beginning, or did you discover your interests here along the way?

I have been in fashion for 11 years now and decided I needed to get a fashion degree to go where I wanted to go in the long run. I was previously an engineering major.

Tell us about any special experiential learning opportunities that have influenced you in a positive way.

I own a business and dabble in all things art. I mentor others in fashion, teach fashion and various art classes at Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center, do private label design for various businesses, and manufacture my own products. I am releasing my first-ever designer bag collection in February.

What are your plans after you graduate from Miami? What is your dream job?

I would like to grow my fashion business and do a ton of behind-the-scenes work for film. I would love to ultimately design for film and especially Bridgerton. Once I do that, I will feel like I have made it.

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your Miami experience that we didn't cover?

I have yet to meet a fashion professor who wasn't a genius. The fashion staff deserves a round of applause.
