Teacher Credentialing for College Credit Plus

Miami University offers teacher-friendly pathways for high school teachers to earn the graduate credentials needed to teach College Credit Plus (CCP) courses. Designed for working educators, these programs include flexible options such as online coursework and summer terms leading to the required qualifications.

Key Aspects of Credentialing at Miami University

  • Requirements
    • To teach CCP courses (typically) requires a master's degree in the subject area or a master's degree plus 18 graduate credits in the discipline.
  • Approval Process
    • Teachers must apply to be approved as adjunct instructors by the college or university that is granting the CCP credit. The course is then approved to be offered within the school district.
  • Grant Funding
    • While individual teachers cannot apply directly for CCP expansion grants, their districts may apply for funding to help cover the cost of training (not available for all programs).
