With Miami and Butler Tech, you will earn college credit toward your Miami teacher education degree before high school graduation.
About the Pathway
Through this unique collaboration, you will gain hands-on classroom experience, complete college-level education courses, and build a seamless bridge to Miami’s nationally recognized College of Education, Health, and Society (EHS). This pathway is part of Miami’s Center for Recruitment, Engagement, and Advancement of Transformative Educators (CREATE).

How It Works
Grades 10–11
Take Miami University courses at Butler Tech taught by credentialed instructors. Courses may include:
- TCE 191 – Threshold Concepts in Teaching, Curriculum, and Educational Inquiry
- EDP 201 – Human Development and Learning
- EDP 256 – Psychology of the Exceptional Learner
- EDL 204 – Sociocultural Studies in Education
Grade 12
Participate in a Career Awareness Internship, teaching and mentoring students in local schools.
