Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) faces a teacher staffing shortage, exacerbated by declining enrollment in teacher education programs. To address this issue and enhance diversity, CPS collaborates with Miami University in the TEACh Cincinnati program. This initiative identifies high school students interested in education, mentors them through high school, supports their transition to college, and welcomes them back as teachers, aiming to not only fill teaching positions but also to cultivate a diverse workforce attuned to the socio-economic and racial diversity of the student body.
