Two EHS students named finalists for Love and Honor Cup

Lisa Konadu Boateng, a senior majoring in nutrition with a dietetics concentration, and Janelle Tipton, a student in the Spanish Education B.A./M.A. program, are among 10 finalists for Miami University’s Love and Honor Cup Award. The award recognizes seniors who embody the university’s values through academic achievement, campus involvement, and community service.

At Miami, Boateng serves as vice president of the African Students’ Union, president of Afro State of Mind and Afro Beat Dance, and financial secretary and vice president of the Upsilon Pi Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. She also volunteers through AmeriCorps at the Oxford Fire Department, helps with Monday Meals at Oxford Senior Living, and assists with the Miami Pantry.

Tipton is involved with the Honors College, Presidential Fellows Program, and SEAL leadership program, and has served as an undergraduate research assistant and Spanish tutor. She has studied abroad three times and completed multiple international internships as an English as a Foreign Language teacher.
