Molly Sawyer, director of clinical placements and field experience for Miami University’s College of Education, Health, and Society, presented her work, “Fueling future teachers: Utilizing the design process to address challenges faced by student teachers,” at the 24th Annual Hawaii International Conference on Education, held Jan. 8 to 11, 2026, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her presentation addressed financial and logistical challenges faced by student teachers, including transportation and instructional supply costs, and shared findings from a University Think Team that used the design process to respond to those challenges.
