Sean Selier, from the Department of Sport Leadership and Management, published work in the Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics, in collaboration with colleagues at The University of Georgia. Their research explores the relationship between club sport availability and college selection, finding that club sports are a significant predictor of college selection, surpassing more traditional determinants such as geographic location and academic considerations. Their findings suggest that club sports are more than an ancillary recreational opportunity and can be a valuable asset for admissions, retention, and student engagement.

This project received a $900 research grant award from the Global Sports Business Association for outstanding research.
