Your college experience is what you make of it. No matter who you are or what you like to do there are people and experiences for you here. Don't think you have to party or be a business major! Choose habits and a path that makes you happy, and if you are unsure, I know you will find something you love here!

Izzy Arredondo, Advice to Prospective Students

Out of all the universities you looked at, what made you ultimately choose Miami?

Miami was one of those schools that you just feel at home at. Red brick buildings, greenery, Slant Walk, the vibe of Uptown — there was no place more fitting for my college experience.

How did you choose your major(s)? Were you decided from the beginning, or did you discover your interests here along the way?

I came into Miami as a first-year biology major on a track for exploratory research. When I took a KNH class, I fell in love with learning more about the body and movement as the focus of my undergraduate education. It's so interesting and fun; if you have a passion for health, fitness, and hands-on learning, think about KNH!!

What are your plans for after you graduate from Miami? What sort of career are you aiming for? What is your dream job?

Wow. Seems so far away, but I'm actually graduating next year, so I should get on that. I am going to take a gap year to gain patient care hours for my physician assistant application and enjoy life post-undergrad!! Let's go healthcare!

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your Miami experience that we didn't cover?

Favorite professor: Dr. Dean Smith!! Memorable Class: Mafia and Cinema!!
