Housing and Meals

Living with a European host has always been a central part of the MUDEC experience. There is an on-site Housing Coordinator who carefully considers students’ housing preferences and places them with an appropriate host. Many of our hosts have been housing MUDEC students for years and love meeting new Miami students. The host family will provide a room and continental breakfast, the opportunity to practice French or German with native speakers, and an insider's view to European life. MUDEC alumni sometimes forge lifelong friendships with their European hosts!

Note that most students live in between Differdange (location of the MUDEC Chateau) and Luxembourg City (the capital). The majority of students will take the bus or the train to the Chateau for classes each day. The average commute time is 25-30 minutes.

  • Continental breakfast is provided to students 7 days a week with the homestay arrangement, and is included in the program fees. Students should communicate breakfast preferences early on to their host.
  • Program fees include a meal plan, which provides 4 lunches a week prepared by our chef, Mr. Stephane Romanazzi. at the MUDEC Chateau. The Dolibois Center can accommodate vegetarian and vegan preferences and food allergies.
  • Students may purchase other meals in the town and/or prepare them at the Center's kitchenette, which has microwaves and refrigerators (no stoves available).
