The Miami Plan for Students
Depending on when you started at Miami, you will either need to complete the Global Miami Plan requirements (pre-2023) or the Miami Plan requirements (2023 and later). Information about each of the plans and course petitioning are provided below.
Petitions Unavailable October 9-10, 2025
All Miami Plan petition forms will be unavailable from October 9, 7 a.m. through October 10, 8 p.m. Once the forms are available, this message will be removed.

Liberal Education Petitions
Students may submit a petition to the Office of Liberal Education in order to receive Miami Plan (Perspectives Areas, Signature Inquiry, Knowledge in Action) or Global Miami Plan (pre-2023 Foundations, Capstones, or Thematic Sequence) credit.
