Miami hosts Literature and Leadership Symposium Nov. 18-20

Miami University’s Literature and Leadership Symposium is Nov. 18-20 on the Oxford campus.
Sponsored by Miami’s Center for Civics, Culture, and Society and the Humanities Center, the symposium features three public events:
- Nov. 18, 4 p.m., Armstrong Student Center Pavilion A-3056A: “Plutarch and Shakespeare as Teachers of Leadership” with Hugh Liebert, professor of Political Science and director of the Dawkins Scholars Program at the U.S. Military Academy, and Rebecca Burgess, senior fellow at the Yorktown Institute and acting director of the Classics in Strategy and Diplomacy project.
- Nov. 19, 5 p.m., Shriver Center John Dolibois Room C: “What Shakespeare Can Teach Us About Leadership” with Eliot Cohen, the Arleigh A. Burke Chair in Strategy at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and professor emeritus at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
- Nov. 20, 4 p.m., Harrison Hall 204: “Franklin and Twain as Teachers of Leadership” with B.J. Dobski, professor of Politics at Assumption University, and Kimberly Hamlin, Chamberlin Family Professor and chair of History at Miami University.
Student seminars will also be delivered by Brian Danoff, professor of Political Science at Miami, Liebert, Burgess, Cohen, Hamlin, and Dobski.
