Cleveland Clinic internships provide valuable experiences for Miami students
Videos highlight time spent with the healthcare leader in several areas
Several Miami University students spent up to 12 weeks over the summer interning with one of the world’s foremost academic healthcare centers.
The unique opportunity was part of Miami’s ongoing partnership with Cleveland Clinic, and allowed those students to work across a variety of departments, including cybersecurity, finance, biomedical engineering, community health, and research.

In January 2025, Miami and Cleveland Clinic announced their innovative partnership. Since that time, Miami named the Cleveland Clinic Health Sciences and Wellness facility, a state-of-the-art 165,000-square-foot building; established the first Bachelor of Science in Quantum Computing in Ohio; collaborated with Cleveland Clinic on a Master of Education in Health Professions degree program; and the two entities were awarded $7 million from the state of Ohio to establish the Ohio Institute for Quantum Computing Research, Talent, and Commercialization.
In August, Miami celebrated its CedarTech space in the Cleveland Innovation District. Located at 10900 Carnegie Ave., Miami occupies the fourth floor of the building, which accounts for 7,022 square feet in the facility. CedarTech supports current Miami students in Cleveland and provides classroom, meeting, and event space. It also serves as the hub for the university’s Urban Bridges initiative.
