Susan McDowell

Biographical Information

Susan McDowell, Ph.D. served as the Vice Provost for Research at Ball State University prior to arriving at Miami in 2022.  She oversees the Office of Research and Innovation and is responsible for supporting the Miami community in obtaining external funding for all forms of research, education, scholarly, creative, service and outreach activities. She and her staff ensure that Miami is complying with all federal research rules, regulations and procedures, marketing and managing patents and inventions, securing approval for all contracts and agreements, and providing support in the development of proposals and corporate partnerships.
