Michael Sekus
Michael Sekus is a retired international business executive. He is a lifelong avid supporter of the performing arts, particularly opera, classical music, ballet, dance, and theater. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Glimmerglass Opera Festival and is a Patron Volunteer at the Metropolitan Opera. He is a patron of and frequently attends performances at The NY Philharmonic, Chamber Musical Society, Carnegie Hall, NY City Ballet, The Joyce Theater, NY City Center, Roundabout Theater, and Broadway/Off Broadway Theater, among others. He also travels extensively to other venues around the country.
Michael is an advocate for live performances and believes that live audiences are a critical part of a transformative artistic experience. He is in love with the classically trained human voice, which he believes is the greatest instrument.
When not involved with the arts, Michael loves to cook, a skill he developed while at Miami and has perfected over the years. He cooks a broad set of cuisines reflective of his growing up in various places abroad and his travels for work.
Michael is a true believer in a liberal arts education that gives students exposure to other disciplines outside of their declared major.
