Alex Zimmerman

Biography

I got my start working in Intramural Sports at the University of Maryland in 2018 when I needed a job on campus, and quickly fell in love. I grew up playing different sports, so this allowed me to make some money while still being around sports. It has taken me all across the country, including an internship at UCLA, officiating at a National Tournament in Round Rock Texas for football, and even helped pay for my Masters Degree. My lifelong goal is to teach, and although I'm taking the scenic route to get there, I'm enjoying every moment.

Why I Love Working at the REC

I love working in campus recreation because there is truly something for everyone, regardless of who they are. Being able to offer a variety of programs to truly cater to every member of the University is something that I strive for. I love creating a space for everyone to be able to be active in the way that they want.
