Zane Spurlock

Biography

I have been a swimmer and lifeguard for about 10 years from small local pools to the oceanfront in South Carolina beaches. I swam 1 year in college and as we wrapped up the season everything started to close down due to covid which really threw a wrench into my plans. Covid brought me back home where I started to Coach the Club, Middle, and Highschool teams in my hometown which showed me how much I love coaching and teaching. That path eventually led me here to Miami University in the fall of 2025.

Why I Love the Rec

I love the Rec because It is a beautiful facility with so many opportunities for things to do and experience.

Favorite Rec Moment

My favorite Rec moment so far has been watching the Learn to Swim kids be excited to pass their level and to see how far they have come with their ability to swim.
