“Why Miami?”
“Growing up in a rural town, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by impoverished communities. Observing the negative impacts, sparked my interest in addressing healthcaredisparities. My time working as a medical assistant fueled my passion to serve through several disciplines of medicine. What drew me to Miami University was the alignment of their values with my own, including the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion as means of improving a holistic approach to healthcare. Miami's emphasis on research offers the invaluable opportunity to observe real-world afflictions and work toward meaningful solutions. After meeting the faculty and experiencing the welcoming environment, I instantly felt at home. I am excited to be part of a program that supports my growth as a future healthcare provider".
