Amanda is employed as the Assistant Director of Lab Safety for the Office of Research and Innovation at Miami University. Prior to her employment at Miami University, Amanda was employed at Wright State University as the Academic Programming Director for the Department of Electrical Engineering. She was previously employed at Miami University for over eleven years as the Chemistry Lab Coordinator on the Middletown campus and was promoted to Manager of Science Lab Operations. She was a Chemical Technician at the University of Dayton Research Institute, where she worked to synthesize alternative fuels that could be used as a blend with jet fuel used by the United States Air Force. Amanda then transitioned into the position of Safety Coordinator for the University of Dayton Research Institute.
Amanda has a significant interest in the field of forensic science, specifically the field of fire and explosion investigations, and is a member of the National Association of Fire Investigators. With her wide range of coursework throughout her academic career, including chemistry, biology, microbiology, and fire science, Amanda is well versed in the interdisciplinary relationships that comprise forensic science.
