Introduction

Cathy Cerone earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Mathematics with a certification in Secondary Education from Ladycliff College in New York, and an Master of Science (MS) in Statistics from Miami University. She spent many years working as a statistician, first in Air Force technical intelligence and then as a statistical consultant for several local companies before returning to Miami in 2003. Her work in the Office of Learning Assistance involves leading the Structured Learning Assistance (SLA) program which helps to improve student success by providing extra classroom time in select math and science classes. She also runs the SAGE program, an academic early warning system for students. In addition to her time in the OLA, she teaches mathematics and statistics. Away from school, Cathy enjoys reading and traveling (and reading while traveling).
