Professional Experience

Melissa joined Miami in 2025, prior to coming to Miami she has worked in higher education since 2019. She has worked most of her nursing practice in pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital with a focus in Neonatal nursing and Vascular Access as a PICC nurse. She has also worked in public health, as a case manager within Women's Health, as a visiting nurse for postpartum patients, as a perioperative nurse in the OR, and at a Level 1 Trauma center working in new hire orientation/staff development and transition to practice.

Research

Her research focuses on vessel preservation and leadership in nursing.
