Below are some of the 2018-2019 fellowships which do not require institutional endorsement. The list includes links to each specific fellowship’s website as well as a brief overview of requirements. Please note: this is not an exhaustive list.

Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship October All Peace and security related major, course work, or independent reading
Schwarzman Scholars September Senior Interest in pursuing a Masters in Global Affairs in China, with concentration in one of the following diciplines: public policy, economics, business, or international studies
NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program October Has completed no more than 12 hours of graduate study Interest in research with evidence of broader impacts
August Hertz Graduate Fellowship Award October Senior Physical, Biological, or Engineering sciences; intent to pursue Ph.D. degree
William Jefferson Clinton Scholarship October All Any academic field (preference given to students with interest in Middle Eastern/Islamic cultures)
Ford Diversity Fellowships: Predoctoral October All Planning to enroll in an eligible research-based program leading to a Ph.D. or Sc.D.
NIH MD/PdD Partnerships Training Program December All Preparation for a career as a physician/scientist in basic or translational biomedical research
SMART (Science, Mathematics, & Research for Transformation) December All Pursuing an undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline
National Defense Science & Engineering Fellowship December Senior Science and engineering; applications encouraged from historically underrepresented groups
Coro Fellows Program January All Emerging innovators in business, policy and government who demonstrate exceptional leadership
Samuel Huntington Public Service Award January Senior Interest in pursuing on year of public service anywhere in the world
James Madison Graduate Fellowship March Senior Intended for graduate study leading to master's degree in history, political science, government, science in education
Hispanic Scholarship/McNamara Family Grant March All Students of Hispanic heritage working towards a degree in any major or field, with emphasis on STAM majors
ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship March Senior Entering Law School
Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Fellowship January Senior Seeking admission to enter graduate school for international affairs in the fall with goal of joining U.S. Foreign Service
