Miami is known for good food! Year after year, more than 95 percent of students give high ratings to both food and service.

Miami's dining services get rave reviews from professionals as well as students. Each year since 2004, Miami University's Food Service has been honored by the National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS), winning more awards than any university in North America.

Dining Locations

You'll find a convenient dining location no more than a three-minute walk from any residence hall. And you have the added convenience of being able to eat in any dining facility, not just in the one closest to your residence hall. You can really get your money's worth at all-you-care-to-eat buffets, which offer a variety of menus, including Mexican, Hi Carb, vegetarian, and stir-fry. A la carte food service locations offer specialty items like made-to-order pizzas, fresh baked goods, and smoothies, along with convenient carry-out.

Meal Plans

Access to dining facilities is available to all students through the use of their meal plan, with a variety of plan levels to suit every dining habit. Meal plans are good at both all-you-care-to-eat buffets and a la carte food service locations.

The on-campus meal plan for all students is the Diplomat plan, which allows you to buy food as often as you like, during the times most convenient to you. When completing your housing contract, you will be asked to choose the dollar amount you want deposited into your meal plan account.

To learn more about the meal plans and the option that's right for you, see First-Year-On-Campus Meal Plans.

Special Dining Needs

Many people follow a specific diet for health or ethical reasons, and Miami Dining Services strives to provide a variety of dining options that are tailored to special dietary needs. Several dining locations have vegetarian programs, and many vegetarian options are offered in locations throughout campus.

If you have food allergies, let us know, and we can help you recognize which of our recipes contain the foods you shouldn't be eating. Culinary Services can help you safely plan your meals.

In the event that you're ill and can't go to a dining facility, you may have a roommate or friend pick up a meal at the dining location you choose. Contact any food service manager to make arrangements.
