What I love about my majors: the opportunity to have a wide range of hands-on experiences in the field of journalism; the chance to further my studies in piano, something I'm extremely passionate about

A role I play outside the classroom: assistant editor and writer for The Miami Student, undergraduate assistant for JRN101, and member of the Music Teachers National Association and the Society of Professional Journalists

My favorite place on campus: Center for Performing Arts; It's where I've spent most of my time as an undergraduate. Between practicing the piano, studying and socializing with friends, it's become a second home for me.

My dream job: investigative journalist

A little-known fact about me: Since starting college at Miami I've traveled to Argentina, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Austria, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Australia.


Remi Boleky

What I love about my majors: I enjoy the different writing styles I am exposed to, along with my second major's integration with current cultural trends.

My favorite place on campus: When it's nice out, my favorite place on campus is walking to/around Yager Stadium with my friends. It's a great place to clear my head and enjoy the sun. In the winter I would say Starbucks — not only do I love their food and drinks, but I like the busy atmosphere to study in.

My dream job: news anchor

A little-known fact about me: My favorite place in the world to travel to is the British Virgin Islands. I like the escape, the culture, and being in the sun every single day surrounded by crystal clear Caribbean water.


Megan Bowers

A role I play outside the classroom: creative director for PRISM

My favorite place on campus: I love the courtyard in front of the Center for Performing Arts.

My dream job: special events coordinator for a professional theatre organization


Emily Comos

What I love about my majors: I love the flexibility within the Strategic Communications major. It always leaves extra room for exploration and research within any areas you're specifically interested in. Professional Writing has also helped strengthen my editing and digitial communication skills. The two majors really work well together to provide well-rounded preparation for my future career.

A role I play outside the classroom: I currently work for Miami University Campus Services as a Marketing Assistant. I am the Sisterhood Chair of Phi Sigma Sigma, a sorority here on campus. And I also sit on the event planning team for UP, a student-run fashion magazine.

My favorite place on campus: My absolute favorite place here at Miami is on Western Campus right near the Miami University Art Museum. There is beautiful scenery especially in the fall and you can enjoy the disc golf course or the large art installations on the lawn nearby. It's an extremely peaceful and relaxing place to get away from the bustle of campus.

My dream job: My dream job is to be a high profile event planner in either Los Angeles or New York City and work with different celebrities on events like product launch parties, weddings, and fashion shows.

A little-known fact about me: I studied abroad in high school as a junior. I traveled all alone at age 17 to Madrid and Santander, which is on the northern coast of Spain. I took classes on Spanish language and culture immersion while visiting different landmarks like the Picos de Europas and the Museo del Prado. I plan to study abroad in college as well, hopefully this summer in Sydney, Australia.


Dmitriy Kizhikin

What I love about my majors: The professors and students that I have worked with have made my experience at Miami amazing. There's nothing better than being surrounded by people who teach you and respect you.

A role I play outside the classroom: I've worked with The Miami Student as a writer and audio producer. I also work intensely with Miami's Varsity eSport Program, being a player for three years and the gameplay analyst this year for League of Legends.

My favorite place on campus: I love Western Campus as a whole; the atmosphere and programs there involve many great people.

My dream job: working as an esport writer or editor

A little-known fact about me: I have a chinchilla named Ash! She is seven years old and is my favorite companion.

Madeline Malloy

What I love about my majors: With strategic communication, I like that I can dip my toes into a lot of different topics like marketing, advertising, PR, communications and journalism. I am constantly learning about a variety of different fields that I could potentially go into.

A role I play outside the classroom: I am the president of PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America), a pre-professional organization focusing on enhancing education, broadening professional network and helping launch careers after graduation.

A little-known fact about me: I am an avid traveler ever since I was a baby and so far I have been to 21 countries! I also studied abroad for a semester through Miami's Luxembourg program where I spoke French to my host family who did not speak any English!


Diego Marcucci

What I love about my majors: I love how much I have been able to learn about the way communication works in the real-world, and my studies have made me eager to dive into the workforce.

A role I play outside the classroom: I belong to PRSSA [Public Relations Student Society of America], Toastmasters International, PR Visions, and will be competing in this year's PRSSA Bateman Competition.

My favorite place on campus: My favorite place on campus is central quad. Walking by the sundial and taking in the beautiful view reminds me each time why I chose Miami University, and it reaffirms my decision to spend my college years here.

My dream job: My dream job one day is to be VP of global communications for an international company. This will be a long path, but along the way I hope to be the director of communications for various companies as well.

A little-known fact about me: I have been lucky enough to travel the world with my family and learn various languages and cultures throughout my life, and that's why I'm trilingual! This is something that I am proud of because it has shaped me into who I am today because of the different experiences that I took in when I was younger.


Fifi Oginni

What I love about my majors: I love being able to understand the human role in business and advertising. Creatively figuring out how to appeal to consumers and specific demographics is very interesting and eye opening.

A role I play outside the classroom: mentor (Multicultural Business Association)

My favorite place on campus: King Library — I can get all my work done with no distractions, eat and it's open 24 hrs.

My dream job: Editor in Chief of Vogue or the CEO of some major fashion label/company

A little-known fact about me: I'm an artist all around — sewing, painting, drawing, cooking, singing, writing, designing, cosmetology, wig-making, web design, etc. If it involves using a creative eye, I can most likely do it.


Katy O'Neill

What I love about my majors: I love being able to study what I am passionate about and explore my interests and various forms of writing.

A role I play outside the classroom: I am the Vice President of Community Relations for Alpha Phi.

My favorite place on campus: My favorite place on campus is anywhere outside on a beautiful Oxford day.

My dream job: public relations coordinator for a large company (preferably retail)

A little-known fact about me: I worked with Peabody Award winner Matt Katz on his book American Governor: Chris Christie's Bridge to Redemption, and my name is published in it.


Julia Plant

What I love about my majors: I enjoy getting the opportunity to improve my writing every day—whether it be in traditional journalism or writing for the media. Getting to study Spanish with my writing has helped me better prepare to work in a country whose Spanish-speaking population is growing rapidly.

A role I play outside the classroom: Vice President of PR for Panhellenic Association, writer for UP Magazine and The Miami Student

My favorite place on campus: My favorite spot on campus is the patio in between Elliot and Stoddard halls in academic quad.

My dream job: writing for SNL

A little-known fact about me: I spent this past summer working on a dude ranch in Colorado!


Dania Puente

What I love about my majors: I truly enjoy learning Chinese and Chinese culture. I love public relations and communications, and I think that implementing my Chinese knowledge will give me a lot of opportunities, so I think it's the perfect combination.

A role I play outside the classroom: Besides being a communications intern I am also a marketing assistant for the Rec Center. This year I will also be joining PR Visions.

My favorite place on campus: I love every part of campus, but I like the most spending time by Western Campus reading or relaxing.

My dream job: I feel that this might change with time but as of now, my dream job is to be a public relations director for Tesla.

A little-known fact about me: I was born and raised in Mexico City, moved to China for three years in 2012, and I have now been in the US for almost four years. I love travelling, and I've been to 23 countries and speak four languages. After graduation my goal is to go back to China.


Mackenzie Rossero

What I love about my majors: I love that my majors allow me to tell stories in a variety of ways and connect with people through different forms of media.

A role I play outside the classroom: I am co-president of Miami Television News.

My favorite place on campus: I really enjoy sitting in the new green area behind Shriver. It has a soothing environment (especially in the spring!) and is a great place to work outside or relax.

My dream job: I would love to be a young adult fiction author!

A little-known fact about me: I spent this past summer (2018) traveling around Italy.
