Bargaining Summary, Feb. 10, 2025
The University continued its ongoing bargaining in good faith with the Faculty Alliance of Miami Librarians (FAM-L) in January 2025, meeting twice in person and sharing additional counter proposals and other discussions outside of the days at the bargaining table. As a result, the parties were able to reach tentative agreement on the following five articles:
- Association Rights
- Management Rights
- Professional Leaves
- Other Leaves
- Individual and Departmental Purchasing Cards
In addition, the parties finalized the Criteria Definitions and Examples, which will be a useful tool for librarians as they navigate the promotion and continuing contract process. This document will be reviewed by the Dean and University Librarian and, once approved, will be posted on the Librarian staff portal.
The parties continue to engage in good faith negotiations to work on a first-time collective bargaining agreement. Good progress has been made in the last few months, and the University will continue working on the outstanding topics for discussion.
