Bargaining Update September 17, 2024

The parties met for collective bargaining negotiations on September 17, 2024. During the session, the University presented counter proposals on Professional Development Leaves, Faculty Evaluations, Discipline and Discharge and a package proposal on Academic Freedom and Separability. The University also responded to the Union’s revisions to its Memorandum of Understanding on the AI Taskforce, which is aimed at allowing FAM bargaining unit employees to participate on the AI Taskforce while the University adheres to its legal obligations.

The Union presented counter proposals on Grievance and Arbitration, Financial Exigency and Retrenchment and Faculty Evaluations. The Union also accepted the University’s Discipline and Discharge counter proposal resulting in the parties entering into a tentative agreement on that article.

The University and the Union are scheduled to meet again on October 9th and 24th for continued negotiations.
