During a special meeting in Columbus today, April 3, Miami University's Board of Trustees voted to ratify the initial collective bargaining agreements negotiated between the University and FAM/AAUP-AFT, on behalf of the University's Tenured, Tenure-Track, and TCPL faculty, and the University librarians. In accordance with ORC 4117, and in recognition of the new structures and procedures provided under the Agreement with our unionized faculty, the Board also took action to dissolve the Committee on Faculty Rights and Responsibilities, in addition to the Benefits and Faculty Welfare Committees of the University Senate. The faculty CBA outlines the new definition of grievances, procedures for appeals of discipline, and arbitration by an outside neutral arbitrator of final appeals, as needed.
